About our shops

We currently have around 40 shops across Scotland. Our shops help us raise funds so we can provide our services to the people who need us. Every one of our stores relies on a team of volunteers to help run it and support our staff. Quite simply, we cannot provide our services or raise funds without the amazing support of our volunteers. The time, support and the work they do is vital to us and the people we help. By helping out in one of our stores, you can make a difference to people and their families in Scotland who are isolated, scared or anxious about their condition.

The role includes:

  • Welcoming and assisting customers
  • Customer service and sales service
  • Stock control
  • Sorting donations
  • Hanging and ticketing stock
  • Help to keep store clean and tidy

What skills do I need?

  • Good communication and customer care service skills
  • Be able to work as part of a team environment and with the general public
  • A willingness to undertake training required for role

The minimum age for this role is 16 years old and must undertake a disclosure.

How will I be supported in my role?

All volunteers are supported by their line manager. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland will provide all necessary training about shop procedures, which will be carried out under the guidance of the Shop Management Team.

You will also be given a full induction and be expected to undertake core learning, which includes:

  • Online Manual Handling
  • Safeguarding
  • Health and Safety (COVID 19)
  • Gift Aid Training
