If you choose to raise money for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland as part of your May Munro Challenge, you’ll be making sure people with our conditions get the support they really need when they return home from hospital.
The money you raise through sponsorship will change the lives of the people across Scotland.
Chest, heart and stroke conditions account for 40% of all adult deaths in Scotland. More people than ever before are living with these conditions.
And since the pandemic, the people we help have included those suffering the effects of Long Covid too.
“Everyone with our conditions can be helped with the right support.”
Stroke survivor Douglas faced an incredible test as part of 2021’s May Munro Challenge.
He kayaked across Loch Lochy, in the Great Glen between Inverness and Fort William, to the wild campsite at the foot of Meall na Teanga, before he scaled the 3,012ft high peak along with twin brother Bruce.
“Everyone with our conditions can be helped with the right support, and I’m no different,” Douglas says.
“From my own experience, I know how important physical exercise is to recovery.
“I want people to understand how fitness can save lives. That’s the most important message.”
By taking part in the May Munro Challenge you can help more stroke survivors like Douglas get they support they need to live their lives to the full.
If you need any support to make your fantastic fundraising ideas really fly, we’re here to help!
