You’ll be helping to make sure people across Scotland can live their lives to the full after they return home from hospital with a chest, heart or stroke condition.
You’ll be helping people like Scott, a keen cyclist who had a stroke at the age of 46. While the paramedics raced to save him, all he could think was “I’m never going to see my two young daughters again, this is ‘it’”.
“The help, guidance and support they provide is simply invaluable”
Thankfully Scott pulled through and was able to begin his recovery, but it wasn’t an easy process.
“I looked fine but didn’t feel fine. I craved information and kept returning to Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. The help, guidance and support they provide is simply invaluable, and for many a lifeline,” he says.
“Fatigue, memory impairment and clumsiness in my right hand still remain, but I’ve not let these stop me from living. Cycling for me is a passion and when I’m on a bike it clears my head.”
Scott is able to enjoy cycling once again, but there are many more people across Scotland who need our help to get back to doing the things they love.
By fundraising for us at the London to Paris Bike Ride, you’ll be helping more people like Scott get the support they desperately need. So, it’s time to get your fundraising hero cape on and raise as much money as you can!
If you need any support to make your fantastic fundraising ideas really fly, we’re here to help!
