Work With Us
Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland announced a four-year partnership with the Scottish FA to support improved health outcomes for women across Scotland.
The partnership will see CHSS work closely with the Scottish FA to expand its women’s recreational football programme across the country, with the aim of attracting 25,000 women to the game and improving health outcomes for women in Scotland.
This supports our Women’s Health Action Plan aims, which include expanding our physical activity programme to incorporate women’s fitness groups and improving access for women to health information and advice on chest, heart and stroke conditions.
Ischaemic heart disease, also known as coronary heart disease, is the most common form of heart disease and is the cause for almost 1 in 10 deaths in women in Scotland every year. With the Scottish FA partnership, we hope to work towards promoting physical fitness in women and reducing the number of sufferers across Scotland.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland and the Scottish FA have teamed up to deliver free recreational football sessions for women across Scotland, aimed at getting more women playing the sport and taking part in physical activity.
The weekly recreational football sessions are open to women aged 16 and above who are keen to play football on a regular basis with other women in their local area.
