Walking away with £2,000 for CHSS! 26 June 2017 …press release…press release….press release… The sun shone over the stunning Duthie Park on Saturday 17th June for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’s inaugural Duthie Daunder and Deeside Stride! Over 70 people took part in the walkathon event to help raise vital funds for CHSS. Friends, family and their dogs enjoyed the beautiful scenery as they walked together to support CHSS, raising over £2,000 to help improve the quality of life for people in Aberdeen who are living with lung disease, heart disease or the effects of a stroke. Katie Jones, Fundraising Officer said, “It was an incredible day and great to see people of all ages taking part in the walkathon! One of the youngest participants was 4 year old Kitty Wallace who raised over £400 for CHSS as a tribute to her grannies!” “Many of the participants are a genuine inspiration as they are striving to get their lives back on track after suffering life-changing illness. It was amazing to be able to meet them, hear their stories and see their determination as they faced personal challenges on the walks.” “It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the wonderful facilities and rich history of Duthie Park and we have been delighted to work so closely with Aberdeen City Council, Duthie Park as well as Friends of Duthie Park too – their support has been invaluable.” ENDS Photo caption: Young fundraiser, Kitty Wallace, raised an incredible £400 for CHSS!
