South Ayrshire Council Donates to Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

Lord Provost Iain Campbell said he was “delighted” to support Scotland’s largest health charity with a donation of £7,000.

Representatives from Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland were welcomed to South Ayrshire Council’s County Buildings on Friday 16th February to receive a donation from one of the local authority’s charitable schemes.

Lord Provost Iain Campbell said: “I think it is a cause close to many people’s hearts and touches many families, either directly or indirectly so I am delighted to help in any small way through this charity donation from South Ayrshire Council.”

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland offers a cardiac peer support group at Queen Margaret School, Dalmellington Road in Ayr and a chest, heart and stroke group in South Parish Church, Montgomerie St, Carrick.

Aimee Russell, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’s Community Events and Corporate Fundraiser, said: “We are extremely grateful to South Ayrshire Council for this incredible donation.

“Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland supports the one in five people in Scotland who are living with chest, heart and stroke conditions and long covid to live life to the full.  Donations like these help us to provide support services in the community to allow people to better manage their conditions and stay healthy.”

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland is committed to reaching an additional 175,000 people living with its conditions across Scotland by 2028 through its Community Healthcare Support Services.
