Scottish Pharmacy Group Extends Partnership With Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

Right Medicine Pharmacy has named Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland as its charity partner for 2025.

This is the second year in a row that the independent pharmacy group, which has 43 pharmacies across Scotland, has raised funds for CHSS. Last year, it raised £10,000 through the partnership via a series of fundraising events.

In addition to in-store fundraising, teams from pharmacies across the country took part in their own fundraising events, like the Kiltwalk above, and have committed to doing the same again in 2025.

Richard Stephenson, Right Medicine Pharmacy’s director of operations, said: “We thought the partnership with CHSS was fantastic last year.

“We had a brilliant year of raising awareness and vital funds for CHSS and had lots of fun along the way! We established a great relationship with CHSS Community Fundraiser Anne Magarin and her enthusiasm for what she does and for the charity and this really inspired us.

“This was largely why we decided to partner with CHSS for another year. Having pharmacies in communities up and down Scotland, we know that chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid affect so many people in Scotland and we just love being able to support a charity that in turn supports people in the communities we serve and indeed all across Scotland.”

Right Medicine Pharmacy teams across Scotland held a series of fundraisers in pharmacies last year including raffles, bake sales and Christmas jumper days.

Customers were also given the option of rounding up their purchases with proceeds going to CHSS.

Members of staff also participated in Kiltwalks, a fire walk and held a company-wide charity shop challenge where clothing and other items were donated to CHSS’ stores across the country.

Richard added: “For 2025, we have a team of 10 signed up for the Edinburgh Kiltwalk again.

“Our Head Office team are planning on taking part in the Tartan Tea Party in May and we’re hoping lots of our pharmacies will get involved too. We are planning a company-wide football scratch card event to raise funds and I’m sure our pharmacy teams will come up with their own unique fundraising ideas as we progress through 2025.”

CHSS pin badges will be available at the tills for a donation and Advice Line cards will be placed at the tills.

The £10,000 raised last year covers 500 hours of one-to-one support for service users in Scotland.

Anne Magarin, Community, Events and Corporate Fundraiser for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be working in partnership with Right Medicine Pharmacy once again this year after a fantastic 2024.

“Right Medicine Pharmacy put everything they had into fundraising and, as well as raising vital funds for CHSS, this partnership has helped to generate even more awareness of our charity across Scotland.

“Our services can’t continue without people fundraising, donating and supporting our charity shops, so we’re extremely grateful for Right Medicine Pharmacy’s commitment to us once again for 2025.”
