Do you have what it takes to tame the Beast at Loch Ness? 26 June 2017 …press release…press release….press release… The ‘Beast of Loch Ness’ challenge returns on Saturday 2nd September to the iconic shores of Loch Ness offering the ultimate 10K obstacle course challenge. The 2017 Prime Four Loch Ness Beast Race is set to be bigger and better than ever with a new route, 8 exciting new obstacles from the 30 obstacles in total, which you need to climb over, crawl under and get through in order to ‘tame the Beast’! The Beast Race is sure to test your stamina and push you to your physical best as you take on Scotland’s ‘beastliest’ race! You’ll tackle dense forest, undergrowth and mud (lots of mud) as you overcome 12ft high walls, barbed-wire crawl unders and negotiate scrambling nets, dark tunnels and bogs. Plus you’ll get your chance to glimpse Nessie as this Beast Race has you plunging into Loch Ness itself. The Beast Race event official Charity Partner, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland have a limited number of free entry places left for this wonderfully beastly event and if you pledge to raise vital sponsorship of £100 minimum for CHSS we would love to welcome you as a member of our ‘CHSS Beast Runners Team’. Don’t leave it too late, sign-up now and make your muddiness matter! All CHSS team members will get a bespoke Beast Runners T-Shirt (designed to slip through mud, repel water and stay afloat in a bog…) and other goodies plus the full support from the ‘CHSS Beast Crew’ to help you fundraise and cheer you around on event day! By taking on the Loch Ness Beast as a CHSS Beast Runner, you will be helping people who are trying to get their lives back on track after a stroke or diagnosis of a heart or lung condition. CHSS North Fundraising Manager, Paul Corrigan said, “Last years’ Beast Race was a fantastic day out! It is always a great atmosphere with plenty of laughs, hilarious fancy dress costumes and camaraderie as the brave beast runners take on the obstacles together. It certainly doesn’t matter what level of runner you are – it’s all about taking part and enjoying yourself! CHSS are immensely grateful to all the valued runners who support the charity by taking part and raising vital sponsorship – every single penny goes directly to helping people across all our communities who are struggling to live with lung disease, heart disease or the effects of a stroke.” For more information on the Loch Ness Beast Race and to sign-up go to www.beastrace.co.uk or for more information on becoming a CHSS Beast Runner call the Inverness based CHSS team on 0300 1212 777 or email paul.corrigan@chss.org.uk ENDS Media Enquiries: Katy Aitken, Senior Press Officer Tel: 0131 225 6963 email:katy.aitken@chss.org.uk Date: 20th June 2017 2nd Floor, Hobart House 80 Hanover Street Edinburgh EH2 1EL
