Paramedics fear patients will die after ambulance chiefs downgrade emergency response times Wednesday 3rd February 2016 – STV News 6pm “Minutes are muscle” said Margaret Somerville Director of Advice & Support when she was interviewed about the decision by SAS to downgrade ambulance response times for chest pain. Margaret explained why it was so important for everybody with chest pain to receive the fastest possible treatment and prompt assessment by paramedics or hospital staff. The longer the delay the more potential damage to heart muscle and poorer outcome for the patient.
