Canal Cycle Ride

Glasgow to Edinburgh 50 miles - Glasgow to Falkirk 25 miles - Falkirk to Edinburgh 25 miles

2011 date to be announced...

The Route

The route takes you from Glasgow to Edinburgh along the tow paths of the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals. This traffic free ride of fifty miles is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness - but is still a real challenge!

If 50 miles is too far, you have the option of a 25 mile route, either finishing at Falkirk or joining the ride at Falkirk at 1pm and finishing in Edinburgh.

Everyone Welcome

Cycling is a fun way to get fit and to enjoy yourself exploring parts of the countryside you may not have visited before. This cycle ride is your chance to do both, either as an individual, with your family or as part of a team of friends and/or workmates.

Participants under 18 must have parental consent. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

There is no charge for taking part in the cycle ride, but part of the challenge is to raise sponsorship to support the work of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. Last year, some 150 cyclists raised over £15,000 and this year we hope to do even better!

Transport

We’ve organised the Canal Cycle Ride with everyone in mind. We will be providing transport on the day to allow you to leave your car at either of the two cycle ride finishing points (Falkirk or Edinburgh) and then be transported (with your bikes) to the start of the route. Doing things this way round means you can take as much time as you need for the cycle ride, knowing that your car is waiting for you at the finish.

Transport is limited, so please book early to reserve your place. Reserve your transport when you book online Call 0845 450 2000 or fill out the details on the print registration form
